The J.L. Weigand, Jr. Notre Dame Legal Education Trust is a private, independent trust established in 2003 through the estate of J.L. Weigand, Jr. When he died on March 22, 2002, Mr. Weigand left his lifetime earnings to establish the Trust.

The Weigand Trust, a Wichita based 501(c)3 Operating Foundation, provides the nation's largest legal education scholarships to some of Kansas' brightest and most deserving scholars. Additionally, the Weigand Trust provides career services activities for the scholars.
